How do I know what part of the main mission I am on?
This has me baffled as I have just played for a couple of hours and have completed none of the main mission.....my copy came with my video card , so I do not have a manual.

I think the main missions come from one of the two factions in the main city. Everything else, including missions from the priest in town, are side quests.
Good luck with it, I couldn't stand to finish.

That sounds about right, although I wouldn't call the missions for the priest side quests per se, I think you gotta do them to get your meds or whatever, correct me if i'm wrong somebody.

That's true - not sure if they progress the story, but the story's not going anywhere if you die of malaria.

Okay....that makes sense....thanks.
I went back to the chuch in town and the Priest was not there?
I understand shizakapayou , why you could not finish the game...the quick respawning of the baddies at the out post is crazy! I mean 3 minutes after you wipe them out they are back....I can see maybe the next day or something....or maybe a few hours , but good lord........I quit driving and have set off on foot to every location, to hell with those out post....besides the scenery is quit pretty on foot or by boat.

I had the same experience as Shizakapayou. The game just drove me nuts with its MMO-style respawning, mumbly (and sometimes preachy) dialogue, and aimless structure. It's kind of a shame, really, because it's gorgeous to look at and fun to explore. I just wish there were less idiots to shoot at and more wildlife to admire. The game would be more fun as an adventure/RPG instead of a shooter.

I pretty much agree with everything you said.
The graphics of this game are drop dead gorgeous, the engine runs very well, but the voice acting in this game is horrible.
This game could have been sooooo much more, the potential is there....but some things just tear your heart out while playing and make it unbearable.
I am waiting for my 2nd video card to arrive before I start Batman Arkum Asylum....so i am playing some unfinished stuff on my hard drive.....if I make it to the end of this game it will probly take me years....lol
Thinking of just doing the main quest only and the heck with any side missions.....that is unless i die of malaria first.........looks like just a pistol and a blow torch for me, as I wont find many diamonds out in the wilderness :p:
