From SciFi:

Paramount Pictures has tapped Matrix star Carrie-Anne Moss to star opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible 3, Variety reported. The report confirms a rumor about the casting of the film, which is set to start shooting this summer for a 2005 release.

Narc director Joe Carnahan will helm Mission: Impossible 3, which will be produced by Cruise and Paula Wagner via their Paramount-based C/W Productions. Cruise will again portray agent Ethan Hunt, the trade paper reported.

Ving Rhames is set to reprise his sidekick role as Luther Stickel. The script has gone through several high-profile writers, including Dean Georgaris, Robert Towne and Dan Gilroy, the trade paper reported. Frank Darabont has been working on the most recent draft. Plot details have been kept under wraps.

* This was the first "confirmation" that I have seen. I enjoyed MI-2 alot, I think it was done better than recent Bond movies, so I will be looking forward to this release.
