Fallout 3
Mass Effect
Dragon Age: Origins
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Four single-player RPG's representing a combined potential play time of well over 400 hours. I've barely touched any of them, and I am always in conflict over which I want to play most every time I look at my game shelf. Eventually, I just give up and do something else, and I'm seriously wondering if I haven't bitten off way more than I could ever begin to chew.
I got into RPG's because I wanted a diversion from my shooters that wasn't an MMO. Unfortunately, I failed to anticipate just what, exactly, I was getting myself into, and now I am feeling very overwhelmed. One would think that's a good thing, but with as many different interests as I have, there is no telling when or if I might ever finish even one of those games.
One of my problems is that I can't gleefully announce the acquisition of new gear while playing Dragon Age. I can't shoot the breeze with guild mates while doing missions in Mass Effect. I can't shout, "Ding!" in guild chat every time I level in Fallout 3. In all three games, it's just me, a world full of NPC's, and a huge story to unravel. Sadly, I just can't seem to stay interested in any of them.
A month ago, I joined LOTRO because I missed that social aspect of MMOs. I haven't logged in since leveling my Guardian up to 12, mainly because I've been trying to get involved in Dragon Age. But, as much as I try, it's just not happening. I need to be able to share experiences with others online.
There's a lot of money collecting dust right now, and I'd just as soon give it to someone who will really be able to enjoy it. I downloaded KOTR from Steam, but I own boxed versions of the other three I listed above (CE versions of Fallout 3 and DA:O).
Any takers?
