help with sims 2

i bought the game thursday and it keeps lagging bad and i can only play in unsavable 10 minute bursts what is going on here i have tried uninstalling every other game i have and it still wont play but it does go faster ive unintsalled and installed three times already please im about to go mad :crazy: :(:

What are your system specs?

I run a p4 2.5GHz PC with 512MB Ram and a Radeon 9500 Pro and mine lags in places too. My wife runs a p4 2.8 but with only a GeForce FX 5200 and hers lags much worse then mine.

mine is a p4 bare stock dell dimension 4600 so yeah it kinda randomly cuts off and freezes and goes fing crazy in the middle of gameplay

I find it gets really laggy when I'm having a party and there are more than 5 sims in the house. I'm about to explore their website for fixes or help, because my system shouldn't have this kind of lag. If I find anything I'll let you guys know. Also, scheffer, what kind of graphics card are you running? I'm using a Radeon 9800Pro, and still getting this lag.

Another thing that might help is to update your video and audio drivers. That apparently helps out big time.
