Build in Sims 2

In sims 2 when I try to build something like a wall or a pool it doesent work.
I can buy things but when I click for example on the wall building button no wall apears so I can build it. The same with terrains and plants etc.

hmmm, i just got the game and it works fine...it may be a little slow but there arent any problems other than that. I wouldn't be sure how to help...but have you

1. Made sure you have all system requirements?
2.Made sure you installed the game properly?
3.Have you checked the settings in the game?

This might help, but try not to get your hopes up
