BF vietnam help wanted ( plz )

Every time i Install this game the frame rate must be about 1 frame per 5sec ( yes 5 per sec ).
I dont even get past the EA Games logo at the start.

Ive updated all drivers i can think of.
Installed with and without virus software.
direct x9b and Audigy drivers all updated.

Comp spec

AMD xp2400 ( 2.0 ghz )
geforce 4 ti4600 (128 ram)
2x 160gb baricuda drives
1 dvd read drive
1 dvdrw plextor px-708a
1g ram
This must be ok 2 run this coz doom 3 / bf 1942 / mohaa runs perfect.
The readme on the disk sez its ok 2 run at optimum performance.

it does it b4 and after the games patches.

Try an optimized driver from Omega. Sorry I don't have the link at the moment but do a search for Omega Drivers.

Also, make sure all programs running in the background are shutdown (ctrl+alt+del).

You could reinstall fresh and try first without adding any patches.

Have you updated your motherboard's BIOS ??

I had the same problem. I found a command line switch that bypasses the splash screens and that solved the problem for me.

Modify the shortcut for bfv by adding this to the commad line...

+restart 1

I think this works for bf1942 as well.
