Bethesda has today issued a multi-platform Fallout 3 patch that also installs the Games For Windows Marketplace addon on PCs, enabling you to purchase the Operation: Anchorage premium downloadable content when released on January 27th at a cost of 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

Some people had a lot of issues, some people played the game mostly bug free. For those who had a lot of problems, like myself, the patch has been a great update.

I'll get it and see if it'll help with a quest bug I ran into. Trying to re-enter Vault 101 towards the end of the game, as soon as I'd try to enter the tunnel to get to the entrance, the game crashed. Very annoying, I was wanting to do that one.

Well, good news - after the patch, I can enter Vault 101 and start the side-quest. The bad news is, the game crashed after 10 minutes.

Turning down the setting for water transparency seems to help some people....may be worth a try, not saying it will work....but it can't hurt to try.

As it turns out, I gave it another go today and made it through the quest. I just made sure to quick save often. The game plays like a dream at all settings max under Win 7, even on my older hardware.

installed the patch, and I don't know what happened, but I have to start all over! :mad: And I was fairly close to the end!

I had no saved games!!!! I even rolled back to a save point prior to the patch install, and the game would give me an error. #!#*%!$*

I may not get it right away, but I do intend to get all the DLC they're bringing. I'm actually looking forward most to the last one, since that allows playing after the end of the game and an increased level cap. Yes, I could do it with mods, but whatever.
