Mara, why hasn't anyone here commented on this very serious allegation? :wtf:

Wake up, people! You need to rub the sleep from your eyes. There's more going on than what's on CNN.

I just don't understand why people even begin to believe Bush, and ecspecially Cheney, Ashcroft and Rumsfeld, are honest people who have our best interests in mind.

If you really dig into the stuff Cheney has done (there are entire books published about it) it becomes obvious they are crooks, thieves and liars.

I don't trust them, I don't like the "no child left behind" crap that everyone hates, I don't want to privatize social security because our stupid president has dipped into it so much that the government can no longer handle it, and I do not care for the privatization of energy resources, education, and everything else the unchecked, power hungry, greedy capitalist pig republicans want to destroy. (not referring to voters but the politicians themselves)

We will be a third world country in a decade's time at this rate - an indebited, impoverished, violent, divided country because of republicans, and will continue to be attacked by terrorists due to our policies arrogant Christian crusades via our military bases that are installed in just about every major country in the world.

We are tired of it, and I hope the "liberals" in this country start seriously getting together and doing something about educated the moronic citizens of this country about what is really happening.

Most of them don't take the time beyond a half hour of news at night to find out themselves what is going on, as they're so busy gassing up their SUV's, working 50 hours a week and sitting in long traffic lines to care about anything else.

A few dumbed-down one liners from our pretzeldent in thief is all they need to hear to be convinced.

Well, I wouldn't have put it as harshly as SP there, though I can say I agree with his opinions on most of what he'd stated.

The thing with Saudi Arabia is more complicated, especially for us citizens. While many people in Saudi Arabia (SA) hate America, and most of the 9/11 murderers were from SA, including bin Laden himself, the fact is that the SA government, the royal family are themselves targets of radical Islamic terrorists. So how can we go after SA, if the government is already fighting (at least somewhat) against the same terrorist organizations that America fights against ??

Aside from all of that though, we have had, and even more so now, a Republican controlled Congress & Senate with a Republican in the Whitehouse. And while there clearly are a good number of Reps not wanting to turn a blind eye to SA, or at least are less willing to, virtually all of them are not about to cross party lines and demand their number one guy (Bush) do something about it. What that translates into is that we're not going to see any Senate hearings demanding Bush come clean on any problems that America might be having with SA. And we're not going to see Congress force the issue either.

Add to all of that the fact that SA has many billions of dollars invested in various aspects of American business. So if SA were to suddenly get upset and pull their interests and finances out of America, our entire economy would see a very noticeable hit downward. And, SA (including the bin Laden family) has invested a lot of money into the businesses of George Bush, before he became president. And the SA royal family continues to have major financial connections with Bush senior and others very close to the current president. But hey, don't take my word for it, a little searching (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=Bush+Saudi+connection+business&btnG=Search) goes a long way. By the way, the movie "Farenheit 9/11" does a somewhat decent job of showing some inside stuff between the Bush family and the SA royal family and the bin Laden family, not a lot, but Moore does show some clear connections that are backed by public records.

So, we've got all of these things combined together that make it quite clear that as citizens we're basically powerless to call SA to task on anything, let alone the rampant anti-Americanism and terrorist recruiting in their country.

Oh yeah, there's also the little matter of all the oil America depends on from SA, as well as military bases there. :p:
