Looks like a nice WW2 RTS game. I know Rattlesnake8 is gonna love this one.

Relive the first steps of the Allied forces in their victorious march of Europe's liberation: the first hours of the beach landing at Omaha Beach, the paratrooper attack on Sainte Mère l'Eglise, the taking of the Cherbourg harbour and of the town of St Lo, operation Cobra, the battle of the Falaise pocket and the liberation of Normandy in August 1944. Use the Resistance's help to recon the landing areas, take advantage of the Allies' air power (bomber, glider, paratroopers), and stop the German forces' retreat.

D-Day is a Tactical game in real-time 3D with highly realistic graphics, dynamic shadows, damage localization, explosions, weather effects etc. To best establish your strategy, you can pause the game at any time and plan your operations, give out your orders, un-pause the game and see your orders carried out.

I also noticed 3DG has a demo so I'm grabbing it now =]

Looks nice, but for a WWII buff like me, it looks a little inaccurate in terms of physical location. It appears in the top screenshot that the hedgerows and a town are directly behind the German-manned bunkers! This simply was not the case. But, I presume it is for convenience and gameplay(and eye candy) to bring in more varied scenery in a wide angle shot from above.

Still, I'd like to pick it up.

Your right Zed, i am looking foreward to this one!
But i agree with dos.Kapital, its inaccurrate. Im still waiting for a game with a realistic dday invasion on the beaches. I was looking at screenshots for this game earlier and the beach invasion map doesn't look as good as it could. I also don't like the flags on top of the vehicles. No way would anything have a flag over it during battles. It makes them stand out more, and makes the camoflage on the vehicles useless.

The tanks do look very nice and they are detailed and look great. With the German flag, its not even the Swastika which looks really bad. Why bother putting flags on if they aren't even going to have the Swastika? I hate this whole idea of "it could offend someone". If they are offended by a symbol which was used at the time, then the whole game idea would offend them. So they wouldn't play it. You can't have a censorserd/modified version of a historically accurate game which is made so its politically correct. It just makes the game inaccurate.

I'll be keeping an eye on this for sure though.
The demo is 314MB so i'll download it tonight when i go to bed. As for a patch being released for the demo.. that doesn't make me very settled about it. To release a patch for the demo doesn't make me feel good about how the full game will ship. It'll most likely need patches too.

Zedd, whats your opinion on the demo? Is the level you get in the demo any good?
And have you tried the multiplayer map? It'd be better to give a few maps so we can get an idea of how the strategy map works (like in the Rise of Nations expansion demo).

I love the detail on the tanks.. yum!
Looks like its Close Combat but in 3D. (CC was the first game to come out with the strategy map and you play the battles.. and its set in WW2. Although i doubt this will be as good, im sure it'll be a lot of fun.

Some WWII RTS titles are actually REALLY good.. read the new threads im about to make. There are a whole stack of WWII RTS titles coming out. Some are good, some aren't. If you like the setting then you'll love the game even more. If you hate the setting, then chances are you'll hate the game.
