I am currently playing GRAW 2. The Gost Recon series is a series that people tend to like or hate, there does not seem to be any middle ground.
I myself, love the series and have played them all .

Graw 2 seems to be a bit easier than GRAW.....I think GRAW got a bad rap for being to hard, as it was a very hard, but very rewarding game if you could beat it.

I am only on like the 3rd chapter at this point, as I move rather slowly in these types of games....I am having great fun playing it, just like I did all of the other Ghost Recon games.

The graphics are definitely nothing special, even alittle dated to be honest....but this game is all about gameplay. The story is very good and the voice acting is very good....the enemy AI is at times not very good and at times very good...go figure.

My squad mates , for the most part have helped me out, when needed and you can equip them with a variety of weapons.

The explosions in the game are quite nice and the game does support algeia physics if you have a fairly new Nvidia video card, and the new drivers.

Here are a few screenshots of the game.

As I said in another thread, I tried one of the first Ghost Recon games, but I just didn't get into the tactical part of it all. Ironically, I'm playing Rainbow Six-Vegas 2, at the moment, but the tactical elements have been simplified to a point that I can deal with in this game, and I'm having a pretty good time.

In my mind, it's still kind of an unnecessary complication to the fun part, that being blasting the baddies while covering your own ass, but I guess it does add some variety to have a squad involved. They actually help, from time to time, but I mostly find myself cussing them for being idiots, like when I'm ready to squeeze off a scoped sniper shot, and all of a sudden all I can see is my buddy's ass standing right in front of me. Sometimes they don't come when I need them, and they never throw the damned grenades where I want them to, either.

I know what the problem is, and things go pretty easily when I pay attention to what is tactically correct in any given situation, but I'm guilty of still trying to use my usual loose-cannon, Rambo, barge in and shoot 'em all, style of gameplay. Heh, heh. I guess I'm not much of a leader, and I still get the commands mixed up. I'll probably get better by the end of the game.

Anyway, maybe I'll get into it. Who knows? Keep posting about your impressions, and maybe I'll give Ghost Recon games another shot. I'll post screen shots from Rainbow Six next week. Edward.

If you end up liking Rainbow Six Vegas 2 then you probably wouldn't mind the style of the first Rainbow Six Vegas and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfigher 1 and 2, they all play very similarly.

Believe me, I know what you mean by your squad mates being in your way at times Edward....They get in your way at times in GRAW & GRAW 2 also, and it can get frustrating....but they have actually also saved my a$$ many times over when they would nail a sniper on the roof or someone that I did not see.
That is when I would tell them" thats more like it guys"..."way to act NOT SO STUPID" :D:

I would love to hear your review of Rainbow Six Vegas 2, when your done with it Edward....I loved the first one and have the 2nd one on my "To Do List"

Well, i have finally finished GRAW 2. I will recommend this to anybody that likes tactical shooters. If you don't like tactical shooters, then pass on this one.

This game was easier than the first Graw, however the last part of the game was very hard and very fun

For the most part, I liked everything about the game, as with all Ghost Recon games.

Only complaints are enemy AI is at times, kind of dumb, but great at times also.
Your squadmates at times get in your way, but for the most part do a pretty darn good job.

I really hope they do more Ghost Recon games in the future.

I guess I will now start another Tom Clancy game, Rainbow Six Vegas 2....I am really looking forward to it.

I had so much fun with Rainbow Six-Vegas 2 that I might consider giving the Ghost Recon games another try. I just started Rainbow Six-Vegas (1?), and it's fun, too. It is basically the same, just not quite as polished as the newer one. I can't use my 1920X1200 native resolution, either, so it doesn't look quite as good, but it does load a lot faster. It will be fun.

As I mentioned, I just started it, and I'm not even in Vegas, yet. I took one screen shot, and it doesn't look like much, but there is a story behind it that made me laugh at myself. Ol' hair-trigger Oldster popped up from behind the rail and emptied half a clip before realizing he was shooting at his own shadow. Heh, heh, heh. No wonder the bastard wouldn't go down. Edward.

Hey, Edward, I have GRAW 1 and if you want to do a trade again I would be up for it, let me know which games you have that you would be willing to trade and I'll see if I want anyone of them.

Well, actually I don't have anything at all to trade. I like to keep all my old games, and the only reason I traded Gears Of War is because it wouldn't install. If you have the box and want to just sell it, I might be interested.

I looked at my old, original, Ghost Recon, and it's a "game of the year pack" that also includes Desert Seige. I wonder if it will play on Vista. If it does, then I could go through the two of them before moving up to the later Ghost Recon games. I think I'm about in the mood for another good old sci-fi fps. The tactical stuff is pretty cool, and I've been having a good time with the Rainbow Six games, but I don't want to burn out. I haven't been paying attention, but the holidays are near, and it seems like it's time for some new releases. Edward.

That’s fine Edward, I'll think about selling it to you. And by the way the original GR games are great, I played the heck out of them when they came out, plus it's a very good MP game, especially the Embassy map.
