Where is everybody? We're slow enough during the week, but I can hear tumbleweeds blowing down the street on the weekends, lately. I miss having something to read by somebody about anything.

Oh well. I finished Blacksite-Area 51, and, as usual, it just wasn't long enough. It wasn't outstanding in any way, and it had a few glitches, but it was OK, and I enjoyed spending a couple hours every evening on it. I only spent nine bucks on it, so it was well worth it, but I sure would like a nice, long, shooter that would last me a while. Guess those days are gone, huh?

Here are my last three screenshots, and they aren't much. The first one is one of those glitches I mentioned where my vehicle got stuck in mid air. I was able to exit the vehicle and pound on it until it finally fell down on the road, but it took me a while.

Here's the final boss battle chamber. He wasn't much, as bosses go, and I defeated him in only about three tries. Once I learned how to avoid damage and chase him down to the floor, it was just a long, drawn-out, circle-strafe until he went down.

And finally, here I am flying off into the sunset. Somers is dead, the beam is destroyed, and you can all sleep soundly, tonight. I'm getting good at this saving the world stuff. Heh, heh.

So, gridiron, I think I'm caught up except for Stranglehold, and you didn't seem overly impressed with that. Any other suggestions? I hate not having a game to play.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and let's hear from some of you a little more often. Edward.

mm...it's always quiet here during the weekend... and since all i play was old games....i'd less to say than anyone here...

i am still indulged myself in Blade of Darkness. kind debating whether not i should try the mods for that game... i want to, but, i felt playing mods are always a messy business...

I love that last screenshot Edward.

I am currently playing GRAW 2.....however I have slowed down drastically since football season has arrived.

I move rather slowly in Gost Recon as it is a more slow and strategic shooter.

Have you played any of these Edward? I consider them all pretty good games.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory

Rainbow Six Vegas

Stranglehold.....only if it is cheap....like $10 would be ok

Gears of War.....but i beleive you had trouble getting it to work?

I had a stressful weekend. Not Ike stressful, but enough to keep me from gaming.

Well I'm back at college and in my final year so gaming has been cut down alot for me.

I'll second GRAW. I played the first one. It's good, but very slow and very hard.

What about Brothers in Arms Ed? It ww2, and quite tatical. Its like GRAW but watered down a good bit.

Edit

Ed, here is a miny review I wrote about it back in 2006.

The game is ace!

Its is very tactial and imo quite hard and unforgiving. Its also a quite a slow paced fps, if balls to the wall action is your bag then look elsewhere. It semes to me that most levels are 30 mins of orderding your squad to move and cover punctuated with 60 seconds of hot lead flying round your ears!!

The graphics are very very good, and the game "feels" right. The wepons have a satisfying feel to them, they feel heavy and powerful. They also look and sound great. There is also alot of scope for customizing them in the loadout menu. You can add a forgrip, lazer sight and grenade lancher to most of the rifles. There are other options to add more ammo and stuff at the expence of speed. So you can load up like a tank, but you will get your fat ass shot off when your trying to avoid a getting a third earhole! There is also a great selection of sniper rifles an hevey wepons and you can load up your squad.

The enviroment your in is almost totaly destructible. Put it this way a wooden wall does not stop an rpg in real life so it wont in this, a barrel does not stop a .303 rile round in real life so it wont in this, a car.........oh you get the idea!!

The real time tactial map you have, the "Cross-com" (to give it its full and to be honest stupit name) is your best wepon in the field. You can spot/track enemies (that either you or one squad have already seen) and you can also track and give pinpoint commands to your squad, such as cover, move, attack ect. It is your "best friend" in a scrap. Its possible to give commands on the fly but it is not as accurate.

Some bad stuff.

The ai, both freindly and enemies is not the best I have ever seen. Now is not terrible but on ocassion the pathfinding of the ai will let you down. It can be a bit of a pisser when you tell your sinper to, move quietly in the shadows and pop some melons of the contacts in the tower, but in stead he get stuck behind a creat for 5 mins and then legs it toward the bases heavy gun post!!

So to sum up GRAW is a Very pretty, very hard thinking mans fps, that on very rare occasions suffers from doggy ai!

It gets a 9/10 from jc.

I got Spore last weekend, and have been playing it like crazy. I also picked up Rock Band 2 yesterday for my 360 and played it until my hands and wrists were cramped up... man, what a great game, but it sure takes a toll on you!

I'll try to post some screenies a bit later. :):

I've been playing Spore too, it's a great game and makes a welcome change from the usual FPS:thumbup:

Brothers In Arms is a good recommendation Joe Cool.....It is not run and gun like he said Edward, but it is very fun.....and if you want to give it a go I have an extra copy...all 4cd's are in great shape, plus it has the manual....no box....I will sell it cheap....like $8 and that includes shipping!
Let me know.

Well, I just went ahead and ordered Rainbow six-Vegas 2, but I'll keep your offer in mind, gridiron. Thanks.

I did try one of the first Ghost Recon games, years ago, but I didn't care for the heavy tactical part. I've played several games, lately, that claimed to be "tactical" shooters, but they've all been pretty simple, one key, commands, and I still did most of the shooting. I read a review, and Rainbow six sounds to be similar, so I'll give it a try.

What is Spore? I'll have to check it out, since some of you seem impressed. I saw the thread about the creatures, but I didn't pay too much attention to it.

Thanks for your response, folks. Edward.
