I found this mod (http://www.lcvg.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12291) while looking around for a way to play the old Infinity Engine games in windowed mode. It makes it possible to play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale 1 & 2 at true widescreen resolutions.
If, like me, you're a fan of these classic RPG's and were turned off by how they look on widescreen monitors, then this could be the solution.
EDIT: Sorry if this is old news.

Yeah Chai mentioned it previously but no big deal. Good to hear from you.
I used it with Planescape and originally posted that it was working great. But further playtime revealed a couple problems where the game would crash and I could only save in slot 1 or the game would also crash.
Definitely looks great though.

It played damned well for me in Planescape. No problems saving, but some of the fancier spell effects didn't work properly.
Looks so wonderful at high resolutions, though.
Baldur's Gate 2 didn't work for me, unfortunately. Just kept on crashing.
What have you tried it with, Nova?

I haven't really gotten around to trying the mod yet, to be honest. Good to know it worked for at least one of you with Planescape though. I believe the mod only works for BG2 if ToB is installed, but I assume you have it, Chai.
I guess wether the mod works well or not is pretty much a gamble.
I keep a 17" CRT for old games, but I'd much rather play them in widescreen. Doesn't help that CRT's give me headaches...

From what I've seen, it's pretty iffy even if you follow the instructions exactly. You could do EVERYTHING right and have it still not work, which is how it happened for Baldur's Gate 2.
I hope it does work for you though. It looks wonderful.
