From SciFi:

The Rock, who is starring in the upcoming action movie Spy Hunter, told SCI FI Wire that John Woo is a potential candidate to direct the movie, which is based on the popular video game. "He's not signed yet, but that's like firsthand information I'm giving you guys, as I just found out this afternoon," The Rock said in an interview over the weekend. "He's in the running, I should say. There's other directors, too, as well, but he's in the running."

The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, said during a visit to the set of his current project Be Cool that he's already gotten a glimpse of the film's effects, specifically the famous car that his character, Alec Sects, drives. "I'm really excited about the developers, who developed all of the Mission: Impossibles, the Terminator 3s, all of the effects," he said. "They told me this last week, 'You can't visualize this in your head, because in our world it doesn't exist, and we're going to create that.'"

The Rock mentioned some of the shots he'd seen of the Interceptor, the transforming vehicle that Sects drives. "It's awesome," he said. "They showed me cut footage they already have of the car. It's just great. It's actually even better than [the car in the PlayStation game], because from the car to the boat to the motorcycle, it actually goes into a three-wheeler first, and then into a two-wheeler when you need to. So it's great." Spy Hunter, which is written by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (2 Fast 2 Furious), is set for a summer 2005 release.
