Atari today announced that Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone has gone gold. The action adventure game will ship for the PlayStation 2 on September 14, and Xbox and PC versions are both scheduled for November releases. The game is rated "T" for Teen and will retail for $49.95.

Set in the Forgotten Realms universe of Dungeons & Dragons, Demon Stone follows a group of characters that unwittingly release two warring demonic armies. Players control a party of three characters in their quest to stop the evil and save the world of Faerun. Patrick Stewart and Michael Clarke Duncan provide the voices for legendary Forgotten Realms characters Khelban "Blackstaff" Arunsun and the Slaad Lord Ygorl, respectively.

Xbox for me. Whenever a game comes out in multiformat, I go with the box because of better graphics and the fact that I can save my games to the HD. I hate mem cards.

If I can't find any screens that show a difference in the PS2 version and the X-box version, then I'll probably buy it Tuesday on the PS2.

I have looked at several articles on it, and it seemed to me that it wasn't a "high res." game anyway, so I didn't really think about it for X-box or PC.

Nice here. is my frist impressions of the PS2 version:

I am on chapter three....my impressions so far is that the game is seriously sweet. totally the type of game that people into norrath and baldur's gate and TTT and everquest would be into. I think its really cool. The graphics are UNREAL. The first level is really cool cause you can see a lot of stuff going on in the background..there multiple dimensions for it. I really like the game too cause the storyline is really integrated into (moreso than was in TTT) and its super cool. OH - there are also these things called Danger Zones - which are pretty cool cause you can hit enemies off the edge of cliffs and stuff like that and have them fall to their death. I am still trying to figure out the item and weapons and skills upgrades - but bascially my take on it is that its a nice addition of an RPG element to an action game. I give it a buy. =)

Pros:
Graphics
Switch on the fly characters
danger zones
story line/plot

The Xbox version of this is going to come out pretty soon. I'm going to give it a shot and see how it compares to the PS2 one that I have been playing ad nauseam. It'll be interesting to see the differences. Anyone gonna check it ou ton Xbox?
