I don't play a lot of MMORPG's myself, but there are several people here that really like Dark Age of Camelot. It's already a little older, but still very good. Another favourite is Anarchy Online, which is more of a sleeper hit.

I play Star Wars Galaxies a lot. I have been playing it since it came out 1 year and 2 months ago (I was in the beta too). It is a lot of fun, but if you are not a star wars fan you may get bored.

Anarchy Online is my favorite and only MMORPG.
I tried COH for a while but was utterly bored with it after a month, the biggest problem with it is the mind-numbing grind after level 15 or so, I just don't consider that fun at all. The streamlined simplicity of it is nice/different, but to the extremes they implemented it, it's a huge drawback for the game, it's just too repetitive.
Most here would recommend DAOC or AO I'm sure.
