I posted recently about a so called “Co-Op Bill of Rights,” which was a concept inspired by Penny-Arcade and then run with by Microsoft employee Ozymandias on his blog. He threw together a list of features that co-op games must have, and then ones that would be ideal but aren’t necessary due to the time/effort/technical requirements they require. It’s nothing official of course, and it’s likely never going to be something that impacts how developers spend their time. More recently, he posted up a more finalized version with the help of various comments from around the ‘net that his initial article called for.

I'll name a few features all games should have!
1) User-configurable play mode where the mouse can be inverted, if used! And more compatibility with different forms of mouse/joystick models.
2) When you purchase a game program, it should be 100% complete on the install disks.. and only on-line registration/updates are needed.
3) Allowance to do specific saves in 'quick' mode, so you don't have to redo a complete set.
4) Allow the user to set desired video/audio modes.. don't default to an all-out maximizing of an install!
5) State in larger type on the package (at least 8pt.) what system requirements are needed for decent playability!

5a) State usable system requirements, not just what will show you a splash screen and 2fps.

Heh Heh Heh....that will never happen.....but I never pay a bit of attentention to minimum specs......most of the time recommended specs are just for medium performance.

I would like to see the following in all games

1. Quicksave

2. Able to make as many regular saves as you wish

3. Screenshot Key....some games have and some dont

4. At least 12-15 hours of good solid gameplay.

5. Support the darn game if you put it out.

I think if half of that could happen, that would be a huge step .....I mean, at least for me :p:
