Calling all home theater gurus.

I have an older TV and the best available input is S-Video. Hopefully I'll be moving / renovating soon, so a new TV right now is not an option.

I'm re-jiggering my home theater setup to run everything through the A/V receiver. Currently the satellite, DVD and VCR video inputs go directly to the TV.

My question is whether I should bother using the component inputs to connect the DVD player to the A/V receiver. I'm guessing that any image quality benefit from using the component input will be lost once it goes through the S-Video from the receiver to the TV.

Am I right on that or do you think I would see a difference.

Thanks,

Chris

P.S. This seemed like the best forum to put this in. Mods feel free to move it if need be.

Yes, you will lose most of the benefits of component at that point. You may notice a little cleaner picture, but nothing substantial. :)

Hehe--I figured you would know the answer. You know much that is hidden, O Tim.
