If you've seen the movie, what do you think of More's facts?

I don't know but I thought the movie was pretty funny, just the way that he said some things. I don't really take a stand on one side or the other, it was humorous to me.

Arrgghhhh....

I had a big post written up about it, and I lost it!

Anyway, what I was going to say was that the Movie is overly-sensational, and Moore is full of himself, BUT that there were a lot of valid arguments raised. I would call it a political satire, not a documentary, BUT political satire is a valid way to get you're point across. In fact, I'm glad Moore stirred things up - thats what we need. However, I hope that people don't get all their opinions from this movie. Thats not Moore's problem though - thats the problem of the people who watch it. I hope that it will at least get people interested in political issues rather than just "Is he a democrat or a republican?".

It was very average. Calling it a full fledged documentary is a joke. Many of the interview bits he took which made Bush and Company look like idiots were taken out of context so right from the start very little can be taken seriously. A couple of things he says are just plain not true. Even so, the big impact the movie has made has caused alot of people to get interested in politics again, so I guess that's good. So in conclusion, I recommend giving it a look, if for nothing else but a couple of scenes where Moore just had me rolling while he grilled some politicians. Bowling for Columbine is better though.

I thought it was great. I did feel that it was overly preachy though when Moore focused on that mother who lost her son over in Iraq, and when she was crying in front of the camera--if she was being genuine, I think Moore went too far, if they were for the camera then they both deserve a slap on the wrist.

DanTheManPR wrote he was glad that Moore made this to stir things up and he is right, we should see this. Even it is halfway true, don't you think we adults have a right to see what's going on? Like I said, even if half the things in this film are true, we should be more attuned.

That being said, at the end of the day, Moore will be richer than his target audience, and Kerry never complained about the film and all its contents. If Kerry wins, I'm sure many will attribute his success as a result of the film. If Bush wins, people won't blame the film. Either way, Moore wins.

I thought it was quite interesting.Think he Demonised Bush to much.Made it all a bit to 'personal'.

Ok I just rented the movie and I wonder if anyone else noticed this. Here this dude is trying to show the bushes with all these Saudi's but he doesn't realize that the majority of the footage he showed was with Bahrainians NOT Saudi's.

Actually, the Saudi government figures, including the princes are quite well established and well recognized. Those were Saudis where he claimed them to be.

Moore's movie is a great work of fiction.
not much else though.

based on several of his comments which he made outside the movie
ie: calling that scum zarquawi and all his men "minutemen" to think that any person could compare that murduring filth to the minutemen is repulsive. not only that but he says to a bunch of cheering Europeans "don't be like us, America has to be the stupidest nation on earth". hence my extreme dislike for Moore and his lie Faranheit 9/11, geez he couldn't even come up with an original name, had to steal Bradbury's...

That's a good point Anmeris. I'm betting that Moore was banking on the majority of Americans being unable to recognize the difference. I sure as hell can't tell.

Well there's a movie out on DVD called "Faranhype 9/11", and it's supposed to point out every lie and twist of the truth in Faranheit 9/11.

It's not a good point if it isn't true. See my previous post. :p:

And I'm sure that the Fahrenhype movie (rushed through creation by Republicans to counter Moore's film) is completely unbiased, honest and forthright.

BTW, F-hype was narrated and headed by political consultant and commentator Dick Morris. Guess which news organization he works for........... wait for it........... Fox News. Betcha didn't see that coming.
:D:

Contributors to the film include Zell Miller and Ann Coulter. Good to see right-wing nutjobs come out and battle against left-wing nutjobs.

Really though, movies and 'documentaries' just aren't an area where conservatives are going to outdo liberals. Not by a very long shot. This is why Fahrenheit 9/11 has now grossed way over $100,000,000 and Fahrenhype 9/11 has grossed about $2.50

But like Lou said before, as long as Democrats refuse to separate themselves from nutjobs like Michael Moore, they can expect to lose consistently in virtually every election.

I saw your previous post Gaim. He might not be referring to the specific people you were talking about. That movie showed a helluva lot of Middle-easterners, some of them might not have been Saudis. I dunno.

You know, almost every time I go to the video store I ask myself, hmmm do i wana rent this movie....I can just never justify it to myself, I meen you rent a movie or watch a movie to be entertained...I guess I just fail to see the entertainment value of what alot of people are calling a "false documentery". I kinda wana pick it up to see how left field moore is...But I just cant see spending money on that sort of thing. Rather go down the pron aisle :P.

Eh, even if half of what moore says is true it pretty frightning. I pretty much say never buy into either sides BS. Don't watch fox news don't watch cnn.. you want real news go to the BBC or c-span. Question authority.
