So what are the console gamers here playing right now?
As of right now, I am playing a couple of RPG's, Shadow Hearts (PS2) and Arx Fatalis (XB).
I picked up Shadow Hearts for cheap off Ebay ($10). It's a pretty good Japanese RPG made by Azure, which is a company made up of former Square employees. Everything about it is pretty formulaic, except the battles, magic and item using. It uses a "Judgement Ring" system which, even the battles are in real time, you need to use precision timing on combos to successfully complete an attack, or even use a health potion. The better timed, the more powerful the attack or the effect of the item. Anyway, the cutscenes and graphics are gorgeous (I wouldn't expect any less from former Square employees) and the game is pretty fun (and takes place on early 20th century Earth to boot). Anyway, I highly recommend it to fans of the Japanese RPG if you can find it cheap.
I haven't played Arx Fatalis too much yet, but what I have played I enjoyed so far. Plays like Morrowind. Graphics are a little clunky, but that never bothers me. I know another member on the board here was playing it and recommended it (Impressario?) so when I saw it at EB for $20 I thought what the hey.
Of course, this is all filler until I get Tales of Symponia for my Gamecube. That game is impossible to find up here right now, no one has it. Heck, even Future Shop removed it from it's website. One day they were sold out and were taking orders for the next shipment, the next day it totally disappeared. Apparently they couldn't take any more orders, they couldn't gaurantee all of them would be filled. Luckily a good member at Avault offered to pick me up a copy in the States and ship it to me. I absolutely can't wait.
So what are all you guys playing now?

I just finished Max Payne 2 - bought it used for $17.00. I'm going to pick up ESPN NFL 2K5, b/c how can you beat the $19.99 price, also will probably get Full Spectrum Warrior because it has dropped in price. My big debate is whether to pick up Sudeki now and pay full price or wait until a price drop? I really like the Sudeki art work even if it's an RPG lite.

Lets see, I am playing MVP 2003 and will most likely be picking up NFL 2k5 shortly. My wife is playing Prince of Persia. Our roommate just finished Ninja Gaiden. I would LOVE to play an Advance Wars style game on the console, but I do not have a Gamecube anymore. I may have to pick one up again when the Gamecube Advanced Wars is released. Not only that, but Zelda, Mario and a few others.

See my sig, I just own an Xbox so it's a rotation of ESPN NFL 2k5, March Madness 2k4, Halo (almost finished SP game) Deus Ex II (haven't played it in a while as it needs my full attention but actually like it well enough) Starsky & Hutch when I feel like playing a driving game and the Xbox demo disc with Riddick, Psi Ops, Metal Slug 3 and a few others - and I bought a classic arcade game pack also with Ms Pac Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and some others.

Hey Most..... I see that you are "Stationed" in Japan.... how much time do you get to play games, I would think that any sort of Military is pretty busy at this time.
Also, have you tried the old Sega title "NBA Jams"? They updated it for the X-box.....that game was soo much fun back in the day...
See you around the boards....

I prefer the college basketball games - I think March Madness 2k4 is the best basketball game i've ever played on any platform. It is a lot of fun.
I have a friend stationed in Japan as well, Okinawa actually...

All XBOX.
I've been playing
Splinter Cell (the first one)
Godzilla: Melee (man, this is a good one if you've got a couple of partners to game with).
Mortal Kombat
Hunter: The Reckoning
Brute Force
Halo (3rd time through - once in co-op mode)
I've rented a few games as well. None either good enough to mention or none that I played long enough to say I actually played it.
Looking forward to re-buying Morrowind, buying Fable, Buying Halo 2, Buying ESPN 2k5 and Madden. There's a new Godzilla game coming out too, isn't there? Thats high on my list, too.

How could I not see this thread?
I've picked up Ikaruga today and my god this game is hard. It's a non-stop rush and it keeps getting crazier as you move up in chapters. This game is kicking my ass so much it's actually beginning to hurt, or maybe that's just because I was sitting on the floor. I can make it to Chapter 4 with only one continue now, but after that I die pretty much once every 3 seconds :):
I'm also playing through Metroid Prime again. The sequel is looking good :):
Once in a while I fire up some old games on my SNES emulator too, usually Gradius III and Super Metroid.

Just finished Chronicals of Riddick, which was awsome. Great graphics, story, and a more mature theme. Nothing like hearing Riddick tell people to "Go F' themselves.
Currently playing Sudeki and Tiger Woods 2003. Sudeki is turning out to be a wonderful surprise. It takes a few minutes to get used to real time combat in an RPG, but it's fun if you stick with it.
Tiger Woods is a must have for golf fans, imho. Can't wait to rent 2004.
