..and an Editor's Choice award.

In about fifteen minutes I'll get to fire it up on my Xbox for the first time after finding some left at one of the local EB's.

Good deal, my copy should be here tomorrow. I had it pre-ordered. Do you have XBL Supa?

Nope unfortunately don't have XBL yet but have thought of getting it.

Problem is, right now, my TV is in my living room and my computer is in my bedroom along with my DSL modem, phone jack, etc...,

I assume i'd have to set-up a TV in my bedroom and run an ethernet cable from the Xbox to my computer and put a router on it for multiple connections/inputs?

yeah, that'd be the easiest, Supa. Unless you decide to go wireless.

Supa if I recall there was a 2 month free trial for XBL in the box. I didn't read details though, I just think I saw it.

But you still have to buy the kit eh? And for $62 or so I think you get an annual subscription to it - not sure if I want to spend that much upfront or not though.

I kinda want to get live so i can download rosters/patches though if nothing else...but will have to wait until i get Roadrunner back again so I don't have to pay for a wireless router with my current DSL connection.

Just so you know Supa, you don't need the kit to get on Live. It just means that you don't get the headphones (you can buy them separately). All the kit contains is the headphones and a 1 year subscription.

Ah thanks.

I wonder if you have to subscribe to Live in order to download the rosters in ESPN's menu options ("Download Rosters")? Or patches in other games? Anyone know? Pretty lame if so I guess, if that's all you use it for.

Finally I suppose the Xbox has wireless capabilities built into it also? Or do I have to buy some sort of router/kit/attachment?

Yep, you have to subscribe to Live to take advantage of the updates.

Nope, no wireless capabilities built in.

Or do I have to buy some sort of router/kit/attachment?

Yep.

Ouch the wireless Xbox adapter is $109!! Then I'd need another $60 or so for a broadcast router. I already have an adapter for my PC (USB) at least.
