Curious to what lengths if any people are going to go to when they get the game. :p:

Me?

1) Go and collect my reserved copy at about 4pm ish.

2) Phone everyone I know that might need to phone me and tell them I'm going away for a couple of days.. oh and that my mobile phone is being replaced (turn mobile off and turn answering machine on!).

3) Indulge myself with the stickiest of the icky and a little beer until nightfall

4) Clean my desk (leaving only the screen keyboard and mouse)

5) install the game

6) close the curtains

7) turn the lights off.

8) Headphones on.

9) play until my eyes bleed!

Hehehe, I'm not even looking forward to Doom 3 that much, but I can't get the old E1M1 music out of my head...

I hope there's a remake somewhere in the game, that would be enough for me to buy it :D:

I already have a voucher for Half-Life 2. With my luck, HL2 will suck, and Doom 3 will rock.

Heh, I wanna wait till they both come out. Having yet to purchase a game in 2004, I want to make it count. I have a weird feeling that one of the two will rock, and the other will not be quite as good. As one of the small cult of people who didn't absolutely love Half-life, I'm leaning towards Doom3.

Personally I do believe Doom 3 is an event worthy of the hype. This game will be an experience that all must witness first hand. I underscore experience because I believe it will be just that.

not sure what to do yet. Thinking of preordering from ebgames but the farkers have it for 55 bucks... I just cant see myself paying more then 50 for a game so I dont intend on supporting this. Though gogamer has it for 49.90 hmmmmm decisions, decisions... :p:

Ah, remember back when games were $30-$40 at release, and everyone said "$50?!?! That's insane!" Now it's the base price of a new release. Crazy.

I agree with Zed, I would not pay more than fifty bucks for either Doom3 or Half-life 2 at launch. If they charge more, then I have no problem with waiting.
