Imagine if at the supermarket there was a row of capsule toy machines, SEGA, SONY, X-BOX, NINTENDO and PC all with 3 or 4 types of rare items like 1 in every 30, 1in75 and 1in200.

SONY would have Crash Bandicoot, FFVII ect. NINTENDO would have Mario, Metroid, Zelda ect. SEGA would have Sonic, NiGHTS, Fantasy Zone, Virtual ON characters.

They could charge like $5 a turn if they were good quality and could make a killing with the relatively high price preventing people from overbuying and saturating the market.

People could sell them on eBay and stuff.

Maybe I've been playing too much Shenmue 2 but I personally would love to see something like this happen especially if the toys were of high quality.

Welcome to the boards Damien. To answer your first question, yet, it sounds like you are playing too much Shenmue 2. But, I am sure we all have our favorites that we play time and again.

I am an area manager for Namco Cybertainment (arcades) and I actually have a couple of capsole vending machines in some of my stores. I have Spongebob, Shrek 2, Spiderman, Hellboy, Nintendo mugs and so forth. Unfortunately, besides the mugs, the quality is fairly poor. We charge only a dollar, but in my opinion, that is at least 50 cents too much.

If some quality game characters were made as you suggested, a dollar a turn might work. I know that some people do collect the mugs. I myself could go for some Zelda ones.

Welcome aboard.

I have just been informed that they have them in Japan.
Here is a pic that a person posted of his last visit there.
