Any idea on how long this will last or is this the going to be permanent? Could be interesting to see how this plays out at $20.

I would assume atleast til pre-orders are over, if not permanetnly. This comes out a few weeks before madden, is 30 bucks less, and is also xbox live enabled. Casual sports gamers like myself who only buy 1 or 2 sports titles a year, are probably gonna hop on this bandwagon just like I did. I never have, nor do I intend to buy multiple games of the same sport, so NFL2k5 is gonna be the only one for me.

I have NFL 2k3 which I still enjoy. I never buy a sports game new, but wait a year for the price to drop. But at $20, I honestly see myself buying NFL 2k5 right away. Time for an upgrade as it is. For your reasons stated above, I am really interested in what this will do for Madden 2k5.

I usually buy Madden every year also - but have tired of it - will definitely be picking up ESPN for my Xbox on Wedsnday when it hits the shelves as a result of the price, and if it satisfies, then I have no reason to buy Madden.
I also saw the half time show with Berman in the streaming movie on Gamespot and the highlights the way they are done in NFL2K5 are pretty darn impressive (not sure if they've always done that).
Can't wait for football season (and my beloved Bengals) and to pick up a new football game on Wedsnday.

If you like football SupaTroopa why not join our Fantasy Football league? And yeah, the Bengals sure had a nice turn around season last year. Living just an hour and a half away from Cincinnati, I wouldn't mind seeing them do well this year too.

If there's still room in the league I'd be happy to join - I always join 2 every year and this would be a perfect 2nd league. I'll check out that thread.
Yeah I work right in downtown Cincy and my office window looks right directly into Paul Brown Stadium. Got tickets to the MNF game this year and the Baltimore game...can't wait! I played ball in high school and for a while in college actually...favorite sport by far.
I hope ESPN's game is better than Madden's...but I'm pretty much a casual player.
