I think this means WoW is taking over the world.

The new WoW Visa card (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/visa/). Sign up and get one month free and further purchases earn you rewards towards free game time.

I do have to admit, some of the cards look really cool.

I wonder how many people are going to skip this thread for my spam like title. Either that or Chip will report it.

Yup WOW definitely is taking over the world.

Where did you find pics of what the cards will look like?

Just click the link. On the right hand side you can see an image of the card. It should cycle to the next every few seconds or there are arrows below the image to cycle them as well.

LMAO imagine paying with that card anywhere, literally, you'll get laughed at sooo hard... I say just apply for it, get it like with a $100 limit and never use it... seriously....

:p: No I haven't applied for one yet. I don't have any credit card right now, I just use a check card, but I'm sure if I were to get one there are probably some out there that give me more than 1% cash back. Plus, I never envision myself playing any MMO long term. Even after 2+ years of WoW I still only pay 1 month at a time because I like to be able to quit whenever I feel like it.

SwaroG, for how many people play WoW, it might be instead of being laughed at, the cashier may whip out his card to compare.

I wonder what % of WoW players would get approved... first there are all the 16-under kids that use their mom's CC... so they're out, then there are older kids with no jobs... not approved... so only like people with actual lives and jobs could get one plus it could be limited to US/Canada only... I wonder if I ever see one in real life.

I guess my wife, child, University education, profession, home, etc. are all figments of my imagination.

You're an idiot, but have proven that time and time again over your time here.

Clearly you missed the point. I wonder what % of WoW players would actually get approved for that card. I'm really glad for your life. Hope you enjoy your card.

Don't resort to name calling. I've played WoW myself but haven't touched it since like last summer - not my game.

Uh, no. One of WoW's most targeted demographics is the college-age audience, and that also happens to the same age that credit card companies go after most. You don't need a job to get approved for a credit card, pretty much the only thing you do need is a pulse.

lol well if you don't have job you better damn have a cash-printing machine, otherwise, who would pay off the purchases on the card?

Don't resort to blatantly ignorant, offensive sterotyping and i'll be sure to take your advice into consideration.

But since you don't know what hell you're talking about, and from your history here (see the Russian topic and GTA4 thread) I'll ignore it for now and still maintain you're an idiot.

As for who what % would be approved, three quarters of my guild are people who have children, own their own homes, have real jobs, etc. as do most of the people I have met online in the game, as do most of the people on this very board who have played or are still playing the game, the remainder are generally college-age players like Donjo and MasterChief here.

And I have no interest in the card, thanks. Care to make any other asinine, ignorant assumptions?

Man, what? They don't care, that's the point. The idea is to rope in young students who are moving out of the home and having all sorts of huge expenses all at once. They give them a low limit card with high interest and then hope that they go nuts with it. Maybe they'll be able to pay it off, maybe not. The important part is that they'll usually have mommy or daddy backing them up to pay off the bill if they can't do it.

Umm, I suggest you get a life and stop caring to what people say on the internet ok? Cause I really couldn't care less what you think. Clearly, looking way too deep into anything people post. Who the fck are you to judge me?

And congratulations on ruining the thread. Here we were, taking a crack at WoW visa card, making few naturally stereotypical jokes, and some WoW nerd barges in and takes offense to ******* internet posts.

Come on man. Like you said, this is the internet: if you're going to come in to a thread and say something dumb you'd better expect to be called out on it.

Swarog, your crap is getting really old, really fast. You may have a "sword of online nerd slaying" but Bruenor and I, and several others here, have "ban hammers of internet forum troll squishing."

Now knock it off with the trolling and the sterotypical crap, and quit trying to work around the profanity filter. You're about one post away from a one week ban to cool your heels. So think very carefully about how you respond to what I just said.

You may also want to check out our policies here:

Umm first of all I never directly insulted anyone. Just making fun at WoW nerds. Seriously. No need to take offense to anything. Seriously, it seems that everyone can get away with stereotypes on this forum except me. I find that most perplexing.

Everyone always resorts to calling me an idiot and other stuff directly when I never intent to insult anyone in the first place and they get away with it.

If you really care about the rules, that guy who started calling me names should get warning as well. Or is there an amendment to the rules, that its cool to hate on SwaroG and you can call him anything because we all think he's an idiot.

SwaroG, you're asking people not to take offense, yet your posts clearly show that you were insulted. I advise that this discussion gets dropped before it results in getting banned, it's not that big of a deal.

Dammit, im too late.. I was going to setup a chair next to Zedd and eat all his pop corn :D

As for the topic.. getting back to it..

The card probably will end up a US/Canada only thing so i doubt i'll ever get to see one. The fact that they are using WOW on credit cards just goes to show what a hit the game has been. Even though i have never played it, even those that dislike the game must admit it is a huge hit with the majority of gamers.

The number of companies that can issue credit cards has gone beyond practical limits! Nearly any organization that can post a bonding agreement can issue a card with their logo/name on it.. and charge up to 21% interest or higher. There should be a limit as to how much of an interest charge can be applied.. say no more than 10 points above the Prime Rate! For anyone to make "minimal" payments on a purchase, you will wind up spending 20% or more for the product over time than if you had purchased it for cash.. or used a debit card. And, for those "cash-back" or "points" award processes, who pays for them? Only the higher interest paid by you.

Does anyone realize that with too many credit obligations, you may be rejected for a premium credit obligation such as a home or auto?
I have four credit cards.. three of them from Amex and one from my bank, which is also a debit card. That is more than enough.
Guard your credit status carefully.. or you may lose your worthiness rating.
