I don't think soaking bullets in pig's blood or executing prisoners, or making "examples" of the ones we catch, are going to scare today's Islamic extremists off. It'll make them respond in kind and grow in numbers.

Different world today, and the core of the problem is our relationship with Saudia Arabia and Israel, and our miltary bases in Islamic countries. Utlimately, to extremists, we are Infidels and not worthy of life unless we convert, but 9/11 wouldn't have happened, nor the previous WTC bombings and hijackings, unless our policies and relationships weren't as they are and have been.

Otherwise they (extremists) really don't care to orchestrate mass murder here in the US if we didn't do things to make this relatively small group of whackos think they're holy lands and the core of their religion was being invaded by Western values and governments due to the reasons above.

Until we figure out a way, without harming everyone else, to squash them, terrorism will always exist in it's present form, or worse, despite our staged bravado and billions of dollars spent fighting crooked governments instead of terrorist leaders in the middle east.

By wiping out all of the known and critical Al-Qaeda leaders you could set their effectiveness and/or ability back another decade or so.

As it stands they are pretty much ready to find a way to blow a bunch of us up again any day.
