I want to first thank all here for help in picking out this game.
Now I just wish I could play it. It seems that you must install the game to its default directory of c:\program files. Well my c drive is for my OS only and only has 2 gig free. The install needs 4 gig and it will not install on my d drive. I've already called EA support and confirmed this. Looks like I will be trying to return it to Game Stop tonight. I hope they at least give me a store credit if not a full refund.

There should be an option in the install process to choose a different location for the program. If not, then those fancy-schmantzy programmers have been sipping too much Kickapoo joy juice again!! If not, then choose the "custom" install route.
Regardless of where the programming is installed on your hard drive, even in another partition or another drive.. it will perform as well as if installed on the "C" drive. But many programs will want a cache file folder on the "C" drive. I have my 80 Gb SATA drive with four partitions.. each with a unique theme. I created a "Programs" folder on each, for sake of reducing the root directory clutter.

Yeah I have lots of games that use My Documents for saves and that is fine. Temp files go to C as well and I don't care. I just don't want my games with my OS.

Gotta love Game Stop.
I went there last night and told them I needed a refund. He said they can't on opened pc games. I said I know and gave him the story. He agreed to give me a store credit for the full price. I had my daughter with me. She picked a DS game and I got an old Xbox game. Both came to a penny over the price. I said to keep the penny.
Now tell what other store would do that?

For PC games, most of the Gamestops around me wont be that cool. I can tell them till I'm blue in the face what the legit problem would be, like yours was, but unless the guy/gal actually games on the PC, they look at me like I'm the one who is stupid.......cause they only know consoles..........
I'll tell em that store credit is fine, I'm not looking to scam em or get something for nothing, but that I refuse to pay for something that ends up being un-useable, like your situation...........
Usually things end up ok, and it's not that often I have an issue. But when it does happen, it's a fight to get things corrected........cause these kids at most EVERY store near me only game on consoles.........

Some programmers want things to be their own way, never mind if practicable.
I had gotten a copy of Half-Life 2 some time ago, but there was no note on the package about it requiring an Internet connection for install (needing about 200 megs of file DL)! You only find out after opening the package. I managed to convince the retailer of the flaw, and got a refund.
Still have not been able to enjoy my recent purchase of the original BF1942, as there is no user-configurable way to invert the mouse axis.. and EA Games considers my request as a cheat factor!! Have tried all the tricks and Console activations, but no success. To me, any product with the EA Games association is junk.
