I finished Painkiller, last week, and decided to go through it again trying to find all the secrets, gold, and Tarot cards. I was doing pretty well, and I had collected all the cards except one up to the point of the boss swamp stomper. I just couldn't find all the secrets on Snowy Bridge for that card, even using the hints and screenshots from PainKillerHell.com, but I had all the rest.
I then downloaded the latest patch upgrading to version 1.3, and all my cards disappeard. Bummer! Maybe I should've read the details of the patch, huh? Anyway, I just thought I'd pass it along and fish for a little sympathy for my "wasted effort." Heh, heh. Edward.

That sucks. Some of these cards are very hard to acquire, the Snowy Bridge one being one of them. I was going to get them all but I gave up when I couldn't beat the first boss under the time limit. I suck :):

I know what you mean, Alex. I spent all afternoon, one day, killing that damned Necrogiant in the Enclave level in under two minutes. I'll bet I replayed it at least ten times, and finally did it with four seconds to spare. It was a good card, too. 4X speed, or something like that; but I really don't want to go through the battle again. I've decided to just continue on without the cards and see how I do. I gave up on the swamp stomper, too. I can kill him in five minutes, but that's a minute too long; so I said to hell with him for now. Maybe I'll try again at a later date.
Since I posted, earlier, I played some more and almost got through the Train Station level without collecting a single soul. Then I started getting script error messages and nothing would load, so I had to delete all my saves, and all the auto saves; and start the level all over again. Patch, my ass. That's two damned eighty some-odd megabyte, five-hour on dial-up, downloads; and the game is still buggy. Its a pretty good mad shooter, but it does have a high irritation factor. I wonder if Doom III and Half-Life II are going to be OK. Considering the time they've worked on them, they should be perfect and not even need patching. I won't hold my breath, though. Edward.

Wow, I sure won't be getting this patch then.
I imagine HL2 and D3 will be fine. Their developers have been working on them for so long. Besides, they're experienced developers, unlike Painkiller's.
