I have to admit, if they can pull this off, I'll be fairly glad to watch it.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Transformers as a kid and if this works out well, I'll be pleased.

I'm with you Mandrake. I've been looking forward to this one since the teaser trailer came out.

Yeah, I think it should be pretty good. I've read a lot about how people don't like how the robots look and all that, but if the story's good and it's relatively faithful, I'll be happy with it.

Couple new trailers (http://media.movies.ign.com/media/568/568421/vids_1.html).

^ Lookin` spiffy.

I gotta say, various blogger reports from the test screenings have been overwhelmingly positive, so i'm actually starting to get pretty stoked for the film.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Even though bumblebee should be a beetle and not a camero, as long as they do the characters justice, I'm good with it. I can understand making some things modern for the various reasons hollywood does it, but keep the characters true to thier original models. Bumblebee being a camero, ok, fine, but dont make him some uber bada** because he's a camero. Bumblebee was not that type of character...........

I can picture it now, Cinemas across the globe filled with young aspiring men in their mid to late 20's. Tears of joy and excitement pouring down their cheeks as they witness Optimus on the big screen. I for one look forward to witnessing the youth of today as they themselves spare as much time watching their much older brothers/young fathers feeling emotions beyond comprehension as they do marveling at the concept of such a movie.

AND THEY THOUGH POWER RANGERS WERE COOL?

Ah, the youth of today, they have no idea!

Actually, this isn't really the full story here.

I understand that they actually went to VW, and VW then decided that they didn't want their VW Beetle associated with a war-like toy.

Apparently all the previous iterations of Bumblebee have just been an unlicensed look-alike.

^ The search for licensing came about because of the movie and the line of Transformers based on real vehicles.

So, despite Bumblebee's long history, they are no longer allowed to use the likeness of the VW Bug.

While it isn't close to being classic "Transformers", it looks like a good robot destruction movie.

I have mixed feelings and expectations about it being called Transformers, but it looks like fun.

yea, all my bumblebee toys never had an official VW logo, never seen anything official to boot...........

But since they are going with liscense stuff, I can understand the change if VW said no.............

I just hope they dont change his overall character........... he's not a bada**......... and I can see them making him into one cause he's a camero...........

I haven't heard anything that makes him out to be a badass.

My understanding is that, in the movie, he's basically the bridge between the humans and the transformers. Acting as loyal friend to the human character and showing a bit of wit and humor in the process.

^ That's pretty much what Bumblebee has always been.

Anyways, word is that test screenings for the movie have had overwhelmingly positive response.
