Actually fairly important to me. At this point, I play more of the older titles then I do the newer ones and is one of the biggest reasons I would be picking up either the Wii or the PS3.

Is this jeopardy? I assume the question was "How important is back computability to you"

This seems to be happening a lot more. The post gets submitted before the poll is attached. You just happen to click on the thread between post and poll.

It's a nice feature to have but doesnt really bother me much. I still have my old xbox to play games that dont run on my xbox360 =]
Although if Rallisport Challenge 2 gets bc for the 360, the xbox is flying out the door =]

Somewhat important and more-so if the games get some kind of graphical update but I don't mind keeping the older system around most of the time.

I like the feature, but don't think it matters much. I mean PS2 had full bc, but I've used it only once, to plat the original MGS, but since I didn't have a memory card, I wasn't too enticed to play it much.

Somewhat important to me, but I can live without it. I don't have any space limitations, and I have a ton of inputs on my TV, so no worries really.
That said, it would be nice to clean things up a bit, but again, it's not a biggie.

Don't own one, but the same thing applies to operating systems does it not?
I think it's very important to have backwards compatibility to a point on your O/S, Windows Vista removed some parts which forced Creative to completely remake EAX using OpenAL instead of... directsound?
And games which are very old don't need to be backward compatible, but things like Freedom Force not working in SP2 are a bit ridiculous, and it took them over a year to make a patch so that it would run in SP2 (I think they made that patch).
Starcraft must be given some special treatment given it's 9 years old and still works fine on XP. (probably because of the 9.5 million copies sold)
To me, it's very important because computers are upgraded so quickly, but for a console? Not so much, you generally still have the old one if you have games for it, so systems working on their generation + backwards for 1 is good enough.

I thought about including OS's, but then decided to write in consoles since there is an actual system change. For the most part, Windows XP can play games all the way down to Windows 95 without much of an issue.
Course, now I have tomorrows poll.

It is very important to me - a deal breaker, for sure. I regularly play old games, and BC is very convenient.
