Hi there , i have a problem with with Biohazard 4 ( also had the same kind of problem with DarkMessiah ) . it's that i cannot see any Intro or Cinematic in the Game !!!
for example , when the Game starts the Intro Begins , and after 5 second , BLACK SCREEN , but the game does not crash , when i press the start button it goes in the game , and also with the cinematics , at the begining of the game when u enter the first house , there is a man near the fire and all , after 2 second the man disapear and the cinematic stops , and then u have to kill the man without knowing what happened ! Or when u reach the village , same problem ... !
tried reinstalling the game , but still have the problem !
Tried Switching to window mode , lowering the resolution , but nothing seemed to work ....
What should i do ? :(
THX !

Can you supply me your pc's spec? ( Details recommended )
I'll try to find the solutions somewhere...
My first expectation of that problem is your pc's or game's configuration.
but i dont guarantee that my idea is correct.

I've tried to search somewhere about that and i've found this
http://s3.amazonaws.com/manifestogames/utilities/iv5setup.exe
i think your indeo's codec is in problem. try to download this installer and Run it. It should be solved. But, i can't promise that this step can help you. I get this link from anonymous submitter from elsewhere.

OK... not nice, not elegant, slow as a river of ****... but works like a charm! The solution I found involves reencoding ALL mpg files from the movies folder. I tried it with one cut scene first, and it worked... so I'm writing this as my PC works on reencoding the other files... I think they are 169. So, to the solving part:
1.- Download TMPGEnc 4.0 Express (look for it... it's there)
2.- Load every mpg file into the TMPGEnc screen
3.- Don't forget to set the "each clip in sepparate file" option, or you will end up with a nice two hours demo file...
4.- Set the options for the encoding part just as the option in the original clip. I tried, but couldn't get it right, so every file grows a lot! So be prepared to have a lot of extra HD space (just in case)!
5.- Backup the original "movies" folder (again, just in case)
6.- Copy your shinny newly encoded files over.
7.- Restart the game.
That should do the trick. I'm guessing this IS a codec issue, but I'm way to lazy to look for the correct one, not to mention a possible system crash (yes, some ****** codecs can force you to reinstal your windows... been there).
That's about it. Maybe there are other mpg encoders out there, so try them all and recommend the best... TMPGEnc is taking around two minutes per file... so that's a lot of time to kill without playing...
Hope this helps! If it doesn't, post a better one... ;-)

P.S.: Sorry for the rude language... but I needed to blow out some steam!
