I finished the expansion a little while ago, and there's probably not much I can say about it that you haven't already heard. It's "more of the same," but, hell, the original was great, so I didn't have any problem enjoying it.
I do believe I finally got somewhat immune to the scary atmosphere, although you just have to respect what they did with lighting, especially shadows, smoke, and sound effects. That scrawny little bitch, Alma, did make me jump a couple of times; like when I was looking through a window into a room, and she popped up right in my face. She needs to eat more grits, or something. Heh, heh.
It was fairly easy, especially when you got your hands on some of the better weapons. Turning bad guys into crispy critters with one shot from the particle cannon was most satisfying, and the little deployable turrents were very useful, although few and far between. There always seemed to be lots of health and weapons around, so I felt free to blast away most of the time. No puzzles to speak of, and even the two or three boss battles were hardly distinguishable from the rest of the gameplay. That was fine with me, since I don't particularly care for long, tedious, boss battles.
That's about it. It was fun and worth the money. If I had a complaint, it would have to be the ending. I see Nyghtfall just got the game, so I won't give anything away; but the ending was kind of funky. No matter, I killed all the bad guys and got to the end, and that's about all there is to shooters, anyway. I probably got a good ten or twelve hours out of it.
Next up is Delta Force-Xtreme, and, after that, I'm going to catch up on those other Jedi Knight games that I missed. Maybe something new will come out by then. Edward.
