battlefield 2142

hey

i have a pc with about the following spec:
pentium d 2.8ghz
1gb of ram
ati x600 256mb video card
and the like, and it runs battlefield 2 perfectly on medium setting for video, but i'm wondering if battlefield 2142 would still run lag-free on either low or medium settings? i am downloading the demo to see if that works, i would buy the game and find out but all the game stores near me have changed their policies so that you can no longer refund or exchange, or tradein pc games at all, which i guess is understandable but it means i could end up wasting money which i aint up for doing.
i've heard it uses the same engine so think it should work fine but as i said i dont wanna risk it.

any help would be much appreciated

I think you should be fine with that system! Especially on "Medium" settings.

Demo runs, then it will run.
