Heh, my wife is in the Beta...

I took upon myself to copy her hunter there, since she doesn't play the hunter anymore and I have a clue on how to play the class, and I got to say... its good fun.

The delay is only 6-8 weeks more, I can wait. Course I'm playing now so...

Guess what I find really funny? Those n00b Locks who picked the stupid weapon @ 50+ instead of the shard for the free VW (every 30 min). Ummm... hello, stupid Locks but dont ya think there will be better weapons in the expansion? That little shard has saved my butt a number of times when Im low on souls!

I guess I am the only smart (and evil) Lock in WoW!

btw - how did your wife find out she was picked? What was the process?

She was picked randomly. She never applied, but she just received an email last Friday. So did one other person in our guild.

The process, as far as I can tell, is they randomly choose current players and invite them via email. Only prerequisite is that your account has to have been active since August 31.

I just heard that the CE's have already sold out! How the hell?? I didnt even know they were for sale yet!

Probably based on pre-orders. I know when my wife and I pre-ordered our CE's (yes two of them, we couldn't decide who was going to get the pet) we were told that by pre-ordering the CE's, we would only be gauranteed regular editions on release day because of unknown supply.

I tried to get CE a few days after it was announced and EB said they were all gone :(. Oh well, atleast I've had my regular copy preorded for a while.

I've been reading and watching so much expansion stuff recently, I probably spend the same time doing that stuff as I do actually playing.

And to bob, I totally agree that anybody who pics the non-unique item out of their level 50 quest is a noob. Never give up a chance for an irreplaceable item that will always be useful.

I just had a crazy afternoon trying to find out info about the pre-orders & CEs. I called EB and got the same info - all sold out, in-store only, yadda yadda yadda. The clerk gave me some advice and links and I discovered that Amazon had em but.... the link for the CE was GONE. DAMN IT! (side note: Amazon was rejecting some folk's orders and only allowing them ONE copy if they ordered multiples)

Best Buy, Cicruit City, CompUSA, etc - all sold out or no way to order.

So... I used my internet skillz to search and search and I finally discovered a site that still had em (I hope) and I pre-ordered two. Lets hope I actually do get em.

Nope. They are completely overhauling the talent trees and trying to balance them with the addition of 10 new levels worth of talents and skills. This and many other things, I am sure.

This makes me very very happy, since I have mentioned, I'm buying the games in december, which would give me couple of weeks to level up both my Night elf Hunter, and planned Undead oriest to level 60.

This might be a godsend to those of lower levels as all the 60s will be in the expansion areas!

Well they are totally revamping PvP, increasing total land mass by 50% (and keep in mind they had to design in all directions due to flying mounts), doubling the amount of instances (and designing them two times each for the new "hard mode" settings), changing the way quite a few stats work on items to make the item level formulas more future proof. Overall, it is probably about 75% of the work that went into the original game, so it is quite an undertaking. Then again that is probably why it costs 40 bucks.
