Gabe says Half Life 2 in August

I know lots of folks are tired of speculating when HL2 will come out. But for those interested ShackNews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/32336) is reporting that Gabe Newell is quoted as saying HL2 will be delivered to Vivendi in August.
Yeah I know, I seem to recall last year at this time Gabe said it would be out last September.
Chalk me up as one who believes it will be out on pc within the next 6 months.

let's just call it gamer's intuition. most of the time when a game is over hyped, we end up being treated with a lame product.

and please don't just assume it'll be great just because it's preccedor sparked a revolution.

Released last September, it would have been the best game ever. But now?

With Doom3 soon to be out, Far Cry out, Brothers in Arms showing better ai and group interactions, who knows?

I respect your opinion about this one, Eddie.

But in my case, I'm hopeful of seeing a game that's going to blow me away. Maybe it's a bit of a high expectation, but because the original game was so amazing, I think most gamers are expecting something similar. My only hope is that we won't be disappointed ... but we very well could be.

I'm the most dedicated fan here. I have played and won opposing forces over 12 times (probably 20 times) on the most dificult level, in fact i could go another turn. Half-life has always been my favourite game. just look at my name "FreemanHL2" says it all. i have this name on Gamespy, Gamespy Arcade, Guru3D, Hyperactive, Maya, ISX, Half-Life.net, Steam, Microsoft, i wish i could remeber more right now but how can i remember EVERYTHING i have registered for? you get the point. Im obssessed.

I gues it's OK to be obssessed right? right? right? Someone hellp me? I'm normal right? Anyway being the obssessed fan that I am ofcourse i believe HL2 is going to blow us away, its brilliant, it's perfect, im obbssessed. the only problem is, obsession sets your expectations. if you don't expect anything you will be blown away. if you expect a lot then the WOW factor deos decrease. i am going to Thrilled, but many other people might e breathless. either way we all know what to expect, and were all going to be having the time of our lives. things couldn't get better, just think about it...
lifes good, games are good, HL2 is just arround the corner... Im obsessed.
