I looked all over on this forum and the only thing I see posted about EQ or EQ2 is beta sign ups. Is there no love out there for EQ? hehe

Well, in all honesty, I think most of we MMOGers are playing pretty much anything but EQ. There's a large number (myself included) who are playing City of Heroes. I think we have some playing Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies and Anarchy Online. But you're right EQ isn't high on the list around here. I assume you play?
(Welcome to the boards, by the way!)

I used to play EQ a few years ago. I never got to the high levels but I had a good time.

I tried EQ online adventures when I was in the beta. I didn't like it a whole lot. I will probably get into EQ 2 but I think I am just too late to start playing EQ. There are so many good people and I would be one of the only n00bs. Right now I am playing Star Wars Galaxies. I have been playing that since launch except for the month of april where I took a break..

I use to play EQ... haven't for a year now though :(: I know I'm going to be a dork for saying it...but... I loved EQ. It was so much fun and yet so addicting! lol I was a fierce Lvl 65 Rogue, and pretty cute too  hehe That is where I created Cherrokee (yes that has 2 r's in it, it was already taken spelled correctly lol).
I've tried SWG, KO (beta), SoR (beta) and even messed with DAoC back when it first came out. I just haven't found anything that grabs my attention as EQ did. However, I must say... SWG came in there strong. I LOVED all the clothes Cher could wear!! haha
Oh...and Thanks Chylde :):

I was bored to tears with Everquest, but I am very excited about Everyquest 2. EQ is what... five years old now and the first large commercial success MMORPG. When I tried it two years ago, I was already spoiled by new games with what I feel was better systems in place. However, Sony has a massive following, large and deep pockets, a thorough understanding of the way MMORPG's work and most likely a lot of fresh blood in their ranks. To me that could spell success in EQ2. Hell, it better rock for all the CD's it will be coming on (11 or 2 DVD's).
The one part I did enjoy in EQ though was just exploring. More then any other online game, EQ had the best locales and sense of adventure.
Right now, my wife, roommate and myself all play Anarchy Online. It has BECOME a fantastic online game. Too bad the initial launch was such a disaster. We are happy with the game, though after talking with the household, if we do switch games, I think City of Heroes will be our next.

Welcome Cherokee, by no means will anyone think you're a "dork" for playing EQ here!
Along with Rob and friends I have also played Anarchy Online quite a bit and now own City Of Heroes (but haven't played in a couple of weeks).
At 34 years of age I hardly have time for MMORPG's anymore and have realized I just can't spend the time with them that is necessary. In fact I just bought an XBox to cope with my schedule which only allows for a couple of hours (if that) a day worth of gaming time. (that is until I move out on my own again, hehe)

I've been waiting to start up on a new MMO game for quite a while now. Everyone is saying City of Heroes is great, so I might try that. The last MMO game I played extensively was PlanetSide, but I stopped playing because my computer just couldn't handle it. I'm sure games like City of Heroes and EQ2 will only be harder to run. So I guess I'll get back into some MMO games as soon as I get a new computer or upgrade this old one.

If my connection speed wasn't doomed to that of a dried garden slug, I think I'd jump into City of Heros right away.
