View Full Version : Gta San Andreas Freezes ON ME

When ever i play GTA SA, after about 10-15 or when i enter something or when a cut scene is about to open or finish, GTA SA just freezes on me. NOTHING WORKS! ctrl-alt-del doesnt work, the start button doesnt work, alt f4 doesnt work. Pretty much everything on my PC aint work.

This is my info

AMD Athlon (tm) XP 1800+
1.54 Ghz, 256 MB od RAM
Nvidia GeForce 5200 FX
Legacy Audio Driver

Ive went into "dxdiag" and changed it to basic acceleration. Im gonna try it now with no acceleration.

are you experiencing any artifacting? (weird random pixelization)
My guess is that your video card is overheating, unless you hear weird popping noises from your speakers, in which case your onboard audio may be overheating (more rare).

nope, my computer just freezes when there are cut-scenes and when i enter a car. I have increase my virtual memory by heaps, like 6 gig, idk. BUT I NEED HELP!

Do you know how i can update Nvidia GeForce 5200 FX? i think its really old.....
and do you know where i can get a free sound card off the net, cuz i think my one sux

I just played GTA SA and it froze on me again, i hear like a screeching noise, like a long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, except it doesnt stop

Unistall the game and then reinstall.... Anytime you have problems with games that should be first thing you try.

i got GTA san andreas and the same problem posted here happens to me? no one has found a fix yet?

I also have this problem.

amd 2000xp
256mb ram
SB Audigy platinum ex
radeon 9250

If I stay in the same type of car (eg: get in turismo, smash it up, get out, get in another turismo, smash it up ... ) its OK, its only after I have changed car types about 5 times.

If I try playing SA:MP it will freeze the first time I get in any car.

I have tried all dxdiag opts. and all sound options in the game (eg: turning user tracks off). I have reinstall game + sound card drivers in various orders, nowt has worked so far.

Any ideas ?
