Hi folks!

My config :

AMD Athlon 2400+
512Mb DDR-RAM
GF 4 4200
Epox EP-8K5A

Now i got word that a bundle is available:

Mainboard : Socket 754, ASUS K8V, K8T800 Chipset, 8x AGP, 5 x PCI, 5 x PCI, 4 x USB 2.0, G-LAN, AC97 5.1 Sound, S-ATA 150, UDMA 133, Raid
CPU : AMD Athlon 64 3200+
CPU Cooler : arctic Silencer 64
Memory : 512MB PC-400 DDR-RAM

Price: 479.00 €

Q1: Price ok? Too expensive?
Q2: Will I have Highend hardware with this? If not what is highendhardware at the moment?
Q3: Propose a graphics card to match the bundle...

A1: Good price!

A2: Yes, that is high-end Hardware. I would get another stick of RAM as well.

A3: If you don't want to spend much money, then a 9800pro. But you could easily stick a X800pro or a 6800ultra in there.

But don't take my word for it, wait for a few others to respond.

ppssstt, none of that is software. :)


Based the exchange rate for those of us in the U.S. that's a good deal. Don't worry about the highend hardware stuff right now. By the time you get it, it's outdated. ;)

That's more than enough to last you 2 years or so. You'll be able to dump in the newer video cards and processors when as needed with that set up.
