Hi!
In Command and Conquer : Zero Hour, I tried to create an account to play online. When the window to set my profile opens, a new windows appears and tells me that I have an invalid serial number. I bought this game, I checked the cd-key on the register and it's OK, I tried to reinstall completely the game, I patched it with the 1.7 retail, I wrote to EAgames but there is no answer. I have absolutely no idea where the problem comes from!

Please help me!

.

I doubt that anyone here or any other web forum can help with such a definite invalid code number problem. Only the publisher can do that.

But assuming you did buy a legal copy, then it sounds as if some low-life twit has hacked your individual code and rendered you void.

I suggest that you keep calling and e-mailing EA Games around the clock until you get some help. You see, they also bought-out Westwood and own all the rights to the franchise too. So there simply isn't anyone else to complain to and nobody else who is a position to check the problem at the source and fix it.

Just try to be somewhat civil when you contact them (even friendly if you can manage it) and most definitely offer any sales recipt and other legitimate info you can to prove to them that you in fact are a legal owner. I'll bet they get thouands of sneaky attempts to glean replacement codes from pirates all the time and are probably quite wary of requests for a new number by now. So be sure to provide some solid details about where and when you bought the game, how much you paid for it, even the exact store number if it's part of a chain, as well as the UPC code from the box or CD case and anything else to assure them that you are indeed a trustworthy, paying customer who they really need to help.

If you scream and yell at them and/or fail to produce evidence of legal purchase, expect to get little if any help from them.

FYI: I've used the same combo of mature, civil communications and exact sales info to get good service from EA, Interplay and many other game publishers in the past. If you're nice about it, sometimes they will break their backs bending over trying to help out. Trust me, it works 99% of the time.

Cheers, Terry

I'll try to be as nice as I can with them, but when you buy a game only to play it online, it's very frustrating when you just can't do it! This game is fun but it's f**ink full of bugs!!!!

Thanks
