I'm running on an elderly system, 512MB of RAM, AMD Athlon XP 2700+ 2.17 GHz chip, and a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card (128mb).
I absolutely love playing Counter Strike, but am wondering what else is out there that is similar to this game. I've attempted to play America's Army, but my PC just cannot handle the game without a major reduction in detail levels. Until I can afford a better system, might anyone have any game suggestions for modern day tactical shooters for MP purposes?
Thanks,

Try Ghost Recon, great game and should play well on your system.

Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault and expansions (probably $20 for the whole sha-bang)
AA is one of the best shooters ever made IMO - top 5'er.
It's old now but should work well for you (you may have already played it I guess, who hasn't). Good MP and SP.

Operation flashpoint Game of the year edition
you get three games in one bundle and should easily be able to run on your system, it's got a great multiplayer side to it and has a very large mod community, i managed to pick up a copy from my local game store for £9.99p so you should be able to find it easy enough
move it!

They will run just fine, they do on my 1.2ghz system, but then so does DoW & D00M3. It's all in proper processing management in the task manager.

Delta Force Land Warrior is good, but the sprites are not "done" to a life-like finish as with newer games. Delta Force Extreme would work well on your system. Runs well on a Win 98 setup with 512 Mb RAM, 128 Mb 4x nVidia and 2.8 P4. That is my "mid" system. Have two P4 setups, a P3/800 and a P3/600 plus an older 233 MMX for ancient games.
Being retired doesn't allow much free cash for all the newest games.
