I could use some suggestions for a good strategy game to play. I just finished Warcraft 3/Frozen throne and now I'm looking for something new. Age of Mythology looks good, as do a few others. A sim/strategy game is just as good. I just dusted off my old copy of Stronghold and loaded that puppy up. Ah......nothing like taxing the peasants.

On the lighter side of strategy....
Anyone ever play Tropico? Also there was a space sim at one time, but I don't remember the name of it. Ah well, I'll start digging throw the demos to try and find it.

I'm guessing the space sim/strategy game you reffering to is called Homeworld 2 =]

For strategy games, I would recommend Europa Universalis 2 for an epic strategy game. Nothing like taking over the whole world few provinces at the time =P The game goes historically from 1419 to 1819.

Another is Hearts of Iron which uses the Europa engine but takes place during WW2 =] 1936 to 1949 I think.

For turn-based strategy game you could try Civ series =] Can't never go wrong with a Civ game. I would also recommend Korsun Pocket. Its a hex-based strategy game and a really really good one at it. Its really newbie friendly as well with well writted documentation and ingame help on tactical decisions.

For something with a twist, you could check out Europa 1400: The Guild (get the gold edition). Its not a strategy game where you fight and destroy stuff, but its a medieval business sim with RPG elements =P Great game and highly underrated. The gold edition includes the expansion and has tons of extra stuff for the game.

Also dont forget, in a few days Ground Control 2 will hit the stores =]

How's the Ground Control 2 demo? I'm too lazy to see for myself.

I downloaded it, installed it and never had a chance to play it. I've been dodging a new trojan packer I downloaded for testing LOL this one was pure evil I tell ya but AVK got rid of it easy =P

The ground control demo is intriguing. Have you tried Rise of Nations? Great game.

I enjoyed Empire Earth, Age of Mythology, and C&C Generals.
