A REPORT said Nvidia - fresh from its launch earlier this week of its NV40 technology - will offer big discounts to its graphics partners to rid itself of excess chip stock.
Digitimes reports today that the discounts are likely to amount to between 10-20% and that it has several million chips it needs to clear out before the end of this month.
But the same report suggests that one of the byproducts of such a move could push up demand for memory used with such products.
Nvidia won't comment on the reports.
It's going to be a while before NV40 based products find their way into the retail market.
