I love it, but its so unexplained. Iv looked around for info and only really found stuff that makes sence to people with a PHD in Guild wars. Im a Warrior/assasin L14(probely the only one in the world)
Iv been invited to join guilds, I explained I was a noob and asked "What will it do for me?" and I was promptly told to ---k off ----head or similar. Nice, but im a seasoned CSS played and I can take all sorts of txt abuse.
So...
1 What is a guild and what will it do for me? (apart from the cape)
2 How do I know if its a good guild or a crap guild?
3 Can I change if I leave?
4 Can they kick me out?
5 And, what IS this carry on about Kursacks and Lexons (or similar) I get the plot and assume at some point I will be asked to choose?
6 Is there any way of knowing how much adrenalin you have?
7 Can you tell how hard a creature is going to be? some are much harder than others
What I do like about this is, its hard and really relies on teamwork in the quests. I also like the way people help you out etc ( allthough theres allways someone going on about nOObs and how crap they are etc etc) just coz I run the wrong way and target thin air alot.

1. In GW, a guild is a collection of people who enjoy playing together and want to become a cohesive group, and/or fight under a common banner. A clan, in other words.
2. Most good guilds will, at the very first, not tell you to "f*** off". Most good guilds have mature, helpful players, and will usually not require you to pay anyone an "entrance" fee; a known scam. Good guilds usually have a hall already, if not working towards one. Most importantly, a good guild is an active guild; get a sense for how long the people have been playing, and how much time they spend ingame; is it sporadic, or is it regular, and disciplined?
3. Yes, you can always leave your guild of your own volition, and are free to choose any other (you cannot be in more than one at a time, and that goes for all of your characters; one guild per account, and all of them will be considered in the guild, wear the same cape, access the same hall, etc.).
4. As I recall, there might be a system for this; certainly, the guild leader would be the only one for this power. There's also a mutiny system, if memory serves, to displace a leader, but I don't recall specifics.
5. The Kursack-Lexon war is the new backstory for Factions; two warring families trying to gather guilds together for a climactic battle at some point in the future. Your guild can swear allegiance to either alliance, and new PvP opportunites open up, as well as territorial controls.
6. No, and it is unfortunate that they STILL have not decided to give Warriors this necessary bar; the best you can do is watch your skill bar; as you gain adrenaline, the icons will begin to glow with flames, when they go bright (the change is very noticeable, and the flames effect gets much more intense and faster), you'll know you can use that skill.
7. There are a few good bestiary compendiums available, but the best determinant is level, and experience; try to fight a few at a time, learn their techniques (do they use energy denial, or DOT, or surround tactics), and then develop strategies to counter it.
Finally, remember that the game world isn't developed to be really soloable; there are a few areas that aren't too hard, but the game is meant to (and vigorously encourages) team gameplay.

The game is worth it. I just wrote my review on it for RWB. Since I've been playing GW since it came out, I have to say that I dont think that Factions is really the best GW game for someone who has not played the first campaign. While it does offer a better "tutorial" on how to play, Factions has 3x-4x the fighting. Enemies come at you in hordes all the time. While this is really cool, I have already seen 4 people take it back to the store cause it's too much at once, the fighting. They are not the most hardcore pc gamers though, so take that example with a grain of salt. Myself, I think that can seem overwhelming pretty quick. But I'm also coming off of playing the first campaign a few times. I have been used to that for so long, factions was a shock of sorts when it came to the enemies. The pace is definately picked up.
IF you buy a game and dont like it, your only out the price of the game. Same thing with Factions. IF you end up not liking it you only "lost" your purchase price, not months of paying to play.
I've told all my friends that have gotten into it and that plan on it, to buy the first campaign first. Play that for a month and if you like it, go buy Factions. It's nice that all the campaigns will be seperate games for those who have not played them yet you can merge them for those who have them all(Nightfall has been officially announced). But I have always felt that people who buy games should start out with the begining of a series if they can.
That's just my 2 cents.
GWonline.com and GuildWarsGuru.com are the best fan sites out there. They have a TON of info on the game. If it's not on the site, you'll find it in the forums.

6 Is there any way of knowing how much adrenalin you have?
6 adrenalin is for each skill (when you use a skill that required 7, you still have 7 for all your other skills) so i'ts kind of impossible. Besides, you don't know how much adrenalin you have in real life either.
7 Can you tell how hard a creature is going to be? some are much harder than others Look at the level?

Yea, I thought of that after they all told me over the course of the 2 weeks when it happened. The stores took them back and gave them store credit. I hope the next guy is not going to get screwed.
Anet is really good about this stuff though. They can see when the account was last accessed and stuff. The new owner can call and tell them they bought it used. It's a hassle but it's not like it's never happened before.

Also, about seeing how hard the creature is. It's not just the level. That will tell you that the creature is or is not going to be tuff, but some creatures use magic some dont. You may get a hex on you from a level 10 creature when your 20 and you will take some damage from it. This would only happen when you go back to area's you've already done, but the level is not the only factor in how hard a creature will be. It's a big part of it but not the only thing. Melee from a low level creature will not hurt you like melee from a high level will. But magic is magic and unless you can dispell a hex you'll take damage from it, coupled with melee damage from other creatures............... I've taken a beating from a bunch of level 10 creatures cause I had hex's on me while fighting. Even though I could kick serious butt any other time against the same creatures.
So basically, there is no set answer to yes or no, you will/wont be able to tell what a creature can do. Not until you fight it anyway. That's the whole fun part of the game!!!!!!!!
