F.E.A.R. Demo Video!

Anyone watch the F.E.A.R. Demonstration Video (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/fear/preview_6100479.html) over at GS? This one's not for the faint of heart. :eek: The gore and graphics are spectacular. One to keep an eye on for 2005 for sure.

I downloaded all of the videos on Gamespot last night and this game definitely has my interest. It looks like a cross between a story driven, sci-fi setting FPS and the atmosphere of the Silent Hill games.

I only watched the 13 minute video and I really liked what I saw. Some of the interesting things:

A Special Ops Team who gets called in to deal with modern day supernatural occurrences. They don't pull any punches in the graphic effects arena, for sure.

A nod to Max Payne with a bullet time-like feature which allows the character to complete a flying drop kick in slo-mo. And the grenade effects in slo-mo are awesome, especially the pressure wave expanding slowly out from the blast center. Way cool.

And in the last couple of minutes of the video, that creepy little girl who seemed to be the catalyst of the supernatural event. Yeeesh... she seemed to be the one causing limbs to explode with blood splurting all over the place. And when she disappeared and then appeared on the ceiling above the dying Special Ops guy, well, I haven't had a shiver like that since playing AvP2! :scared: .

game definately looks incredible. Cant wait to see more. Those half invisible guys were great too. Did you see how they used the environment to move around?

Muaahahhahahahaha perfect. See they use the don't aim at the enemy to create impressive firefight effect well.

The idea sounds great , and I watched the Gamespot movie, but it was very pixelated...yuck.

Does anyone know where I can see a higher quality video of it?

This is definately at the top of my list now.

If you are a Complete member, you get the high rez version for DL, but Basic members only get the low rez stream. I watched it in high rez and wow!
