6800 Ultra psu

Does the 6800Ultra really need about a 600w psu? Alienware says it's a required upgrade if you include the 6800 in your system.

I doubt it. But isn't their other power supply only 420 watts? If that was the case, it would probably need more, and it just happens that the 600 is the only other model they offer.

supposely it needs a 480W power supply as a minimum. whatever Nvidia has done is not good because ATi has came out with a new card and IMO its a lot better card (yet again) and it doesn't require such a massive power supply. i came to a conclusion that Nvidia is making the cards wrong :deal:
