Is there maximum range between levels at which point no one on a team earns any XP?

I'm pretty sure it does. Its to limit lvl 60's from power leveling low level characters =]

Nope, as long as the mobs that you are killing aren't grey to YOU then you will still get XP, thought it could be at a very low rate depending on how high of a level your party members are.

Example: A level 30 33 and 35 go out to kill level 23 mobs. Only the level 30 will get XP
Example2: A level 30, 33 and 35 go out to kill level 35 mobs. Everybody will get XP.

I've no interest in pl'ing, I just wwanted to know whether high-level characters can help newbies with quests they can't find anyone their own level range to group up for without completely newbie xp.

EDIT: That should've read, "without completely curtailing newbie xp".

In a lot of situations you can help people on their quests but stay out of the group so they get the full XP. If it is a kill quest just have them hit the monsters before you do, if it is an escort quest just kill whatever is in their way, if it is a pickup quest just clear the mobs around the item that they need, etc.

Great ideas. Thanks.
